usually i am really productive during the day. today, though, i’ve just been looking at old pictures. here’s one i just love.
this is a birdie that flew into our door this summer. i heard a pretty loud thump, and when i opened the door, this beautiful creature was sitting on the front step. it seemed like it wanted to be invited in… we were very worried it was hurt, but tyler taking pictures of it seemed to help it revive, and he flew away. i don’t know what kind of bird it is, but it was gorgeous.

the girls came for a visit last week. and although sarah has around 1 million senior pictures already, i couldn’t resist snapping a few more as we toured the town.

the corner of main street.

on our way to the rootbeer saloon, one of the major attractions. : )

in the park that runs through the center of town. it’s pretty cool.

i don’t think those walls are going to budge, sarah.

jump.

isn’t my little sister beautiful?

come visit again soon!

if you’ve had your pictures taken by exposure, it’s likely you’ve had the chance to interact with rachel.

when she was a junior in high school, she became our first secretary. at 17, she had already developed great people and organizational skills, which made her a great addition to the team.

we were excited to get to take her senior pictures last summer in chicago, although this meant we only had 1 year left with her!

she graduated this may–her big present was an awesome camera! she occasionally helped out with shoots. here’s one of her pics. we’re excited to see how she continues to develop her skills!

she’s is heading off to college tomorrow. luckily she had some time to help train our new secretary, ashlee, before she left.

delph, thanks so much for everything! have a great time at school and keep in touch.
from one rachel to another, we’ll miss you.

a “classic” senior pose. i really thought my mom would like this one… but, interestingly, she wasn’t fond of the hand.
lovely sun flare.

profile.

middle of the road shot: country version.
why didn’t i get blue eyes, too?

yummy evening light.

just hanging out in a bean field.

with grandpa’s corn crib.

have fun this week on senior trip!
(and the rest of you: stay tuned for more pictures of sarah taken in the little town of alto pass, il.)

sometimes we luck out and get to photograph clients who do an awesome job of posing themselves… sadie was one of those clients.
a bright smile.
secluded garden.
we don’t get to photograph a traditional outfit like this every day:
tyler edited this one and sent it to me in an e-mail, subject “oh no i didn’t”, saying, “Tell me this wasn’t taken in the early 1900’s.”
check out that sky…
sadie and her mom are black & white fans… we kept that in mind. here’s a sampling.

thanks again, sadie!
